Suggestions About What the Government Communities and Women Themselves can do to Reduce Violence Against Women

Government level

1 General improvements
• General improvement, e.g. keep promises, meet needs
• Welfare/health, e.g. crisis centres, help for vagrants
• Address problems of abuser and offer counselling to them

2 Improve the criminal justice system
• Allow community courts to sentence

• Structure legislation and co-ordinate departments better
